It’s been a long time coming. This website has sat stagnant for over 18 months with no new tutorials or content at all. It has long been my intention to get more happening but other projects and a desire to not have to manually edit every page just to add a new tutorial have kept me from updating the site.
But things change! The entire system that runs this website has just reached a level of usability that has allowed me to rebuild the site to include tags, categories and a versatile back end that I can use to add more video tutorials without any coding. Coming very shortly will be the community features, which means you’ll be able to create your own free account and post your thoughts and questions about any of the tutorials you see here, or tutorials you’d like to see.
I really hope you like the new setup. I do welcome any constructive criticism and/or suggestions as to what you’d like to see on the site, so feel free to mail me. Graphics District has moved way up on the priority list, so expect to see a lot of new content going in from now on.
To mark the release of the site, I’ve added a new Photoshop tutorial for beginners demonstrating the basics of layers. I know there were some older tutorials for Photoshop 7 that talk about layers, but those are somewhat out of date now (4 versions ago!) and seeing as layers are such an important feature in Photoshop, this one will mark the start of a new series of tutorials on the subject, ranging from beginning to advanced skills.
